Woman Pleads Guilty to CTA Train and State Street Macy’s Attack Series
Jada Beatty pleaded guilty to two aggravated battery counts following a December 2025 assault spree targeting transit riders and elderly shoppers.
A 26-year-old woman has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to a series of violent assaults on a CTA train and inside the flagship Macy’s store on State Street, court records show.
Jada Beatty entered a guilty plea to one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on the CTA and one count of aggravated battery to a victim over 60, ABC7 Chicago reported.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed additional felony counts originally filed against her.

Spree Targeted CTA Transit Passengers and Elderly Shoppers
The violent incident occurred in December 2025 in the 100 block of North State Street.
Chicago police reported that Beatty struck a 19-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman with a glass bottle while riding a CTA train.
On that same day, Beatty also assaulted a 66-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman outside the train and inside the State Street Macy’s department store.
Grand jury indictments originally charged Beatty with eight felony counts, including four counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated battery to a transit employee, and two counts of aggravated battery to a victim over 60.
A Cook County judge sentenced Beatty to a total of three years with the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Under Illinois sentencing guidelines, her time will be served at 50 percent.
Beatty will receive credit for the 310 days she has already spent in custody at the Cook County Jail awaiting case resolution.
